Video of Posthumous show of Ray Geiger’s art
Too many years after the fact but nevertheless relevant and significant– Here is a link on youtube for an excellent video, shot by Jill Snyder & John Andrews, of the posthumous show of Ray Geiger’s art that was up at the Garfield Artworks Winter 2005. It spans the life work of a truly original artist from Pittsburgh (originally Quakertown, PA and a graduate of Tyler School of Fine Art):
Jill and John had great Nick Cave song attached but EMI barred its use on youtube. I substituted a classical public domain piece. The show was put together through the collaboration of many friends and Ray’s sisters Linda & Beverly. I was honored to curate it, and at the very gallery Ray helped build, the Garfield Artworks– the original Garfield art space that was the brainchild of creative artist Susan Spier (another spirit plucked from our Pgh scene at far too young an age, but whose presence is widely felt).
